Mariadb SQL service times out on Linux Mint (Ubuntu 18.04) (tricia)

Yep, lots of different opinions on this one problem, and it has happened a lot of times. something MSSQL would never do - yet MariaDB 10 does on Linux mint (Ubuntu 18.04) (tricia) and this worked.
