I am still perplexed there is not backup program utilize or wizard of a working running Linux workstation.

I even tried digging around in the CloneZilla lite-server notes https://clonezilla.org/clonezilla-SE/ to see if there was some server edition that would backup a running server and pseudo that into a client version or adaptation. Even the Q&A offers no good clues. hmmmm...

I am still happy with Windows Server Backup and Windows 7 / 10 Backup methodology that just works (obviously through Shadow Copy (VSS) and the sort.

I guess that should be the question of the day, is there a Shadow Copy like service in Linux?

maybe I just have to learn dd command with all the options, yet what I have tried comes back and says partition is locked and cannot dd an active partition.

more to come...
