First thing to do on a new build in either Linux or Windows is get yourself a thermal application installed to watch and monitor your components temperatures.
In Linux, use the Psensor monitor application. Its free.
note: the stock thermals on my 2700X 3700X and 3950X CPUs were a little hot yet adjusted and controllable.
In Windows use the Hardware monitor HWINFO application. Its free.
note: my i7-8700K and i9-9900K builds were fierce and the temps were controllable.
