As we head into our first larger scaled SSD builds should we invest in NVMe as our boot device or just stick with SATA III or SSD which we have done in some instances for various good reasons.
We looked at pricing versus storage size versus speed and scalability and have come up with this tidbit.
so where does that leave us?
we have to start NVMe boot drives now on workstations and servers. A year ago that was close to reality and now it has been a clutch point in how we do business.
Some companies will just go with what is on the shelf still, yet we will go with what is best for the client even if it takes a few days to source and build.
The short game versus the long game? We choose the long game.
