The ransomware dilemma just got worse. Apparently Snatch ransomware is rebooting the computer in safe mode to avoid detection and prevent security applications from stopping it.

How many ransomware infected systems have we seen in the past 3 years?

Just two. They were not even systems under our jurisdiction but we none the less fixed them.

The reason why we don't see the issue(s) is that our threat detection and prevention layers are working, yet we can't speak too fast.

We have seen data stores and enterprise networks and servers that we have started supporting showing signs of ransomware back in 2016 in their backed up and recovered data sets.

This is both good and bad. While the operating systems, networks and servers are pretty resilient and layered backups usually work, its best to remain vigilant and don't jinx yourself.

Audit your backups and recovery plans.
