Multiple monitors and a good video card - usability testing

I have found that multiple monitors, more than one and up to 4 monitors can be highly efficient.
Plus 1 monitor is good and 3 monitors is better.
At what point does one hit diminishing returns?
I have a 24", 27" and 32" monitor, from left to right and those make perfect sense for usability and testing.
