I live 5 miles from the airport in downtown Reno just a few blocks from the University of Nevada Reno, and a block from I-80 freeway, on Valley Road behind Roller Kingdom, and every early morning
of everyday, and I hear the jets taking off, and the weather is just
right to hear them screaming and roaring off into the blue skies.
Noise
abatement issues? no not really. Even when I lived on 388 Gould Street when I first moved from Winnemucca to Reno Nevada on July 8, 2002 at 1:05PM. Right next to Model Dairy and Washoe Medical (now Renown). My passport was full back then, some 20 years ago when I first landed in Northern and Western Nevada in October 22, 1997, semi-retiring from Microsoft in Redmond Washington. Flights from Winnemucca airport to Reno airport were fast, great tail winds, some head winds, and a great view of Reno Nevada on approach of 16L or 16R or 34L or 34R, and taking off on 25/7 back to Winnemucca.
The poetry of daily late evening sky watching, I hear the jets
taking off and watching their landing gear retract, and their lights blinking -- I really love the beauty of flight and international
travel these days.
In the past week, after some let downs from some enthusiastic opportunities, time for me to consider refocusing, I am going to take a break from FAA, ATC, FlightRadar24 and other research, studies and interest in aviation travel.
After nearly 7 years and thousands of hours of study and research, projects and planning, we'll just have to take a step back and re-evaluate this line of industry. Too bad, my local airport KRNO was oh so close and I wanted to be oh so much involved.
Well, they will still have lots to do and so many necessary things to achieve with or without me. What can one say; adios, au revoir, a demain, mahalo, aloha, bye, caiou, see ya, happy trails, cowboy up! haha. good stuff.
Can't wait around forever. ;-) Time flies by so fast!! I am always open and welcome to present and future possibilities. Bummer!! I will still keep an open door for aviation and aerospace applied research and daily projects and work.
So, where does that leave us? Well, the footer on my home page will keep their links for KRNO and I will always look to the skies...
I love to help, support and improve all things related to flight and travel as I was aircraft fly overhead daily from 30-40,000 feet, and those 9 only airlines taking off and landing, and I will always ask myself, "I wonder where they are going?" --- that is how it all started back in 2012 while staring at the skies and wondering...
more to come...
