Mac OS X update - Catalina - no longer supports 32 bit apps - users incensed

It finally had to happen to OS X, 32 bit support being dropped.
 
Those affected, Word 2011 and other applications that are 32 bit only.

on one hand I am excited and the other, not so.
 
It's like keeping Microsoft Windows XP around because it just works, and now Microsoft Windows 7 around because it just works.
 
Planned versus Forced obsolescence is the issue. For me, oh well, adjust and move forward.
