In the past 24 hours, I had to beef up on video editing a specific video to blur out a logo on a t-shirt.

Yes, it was a video for our VLOG. The shirt worn, the logo was supposed to be covered up by the jacket but somehow that got missed.

Kdenlive versus Blender.

Blender is tough!! and the youtube examples are not very good.
Kdenlive is actually pretty good! and the youtube examples are pretty good.

Do we re-shoot the video or learn quickly how to blur out the logo.

Well, let's just take the time to learn how to blur out the logo because that would be a useful skill to have.

So, we looked at Adobe Premier which has a really cool feature, and the trial might allow us to get the job done, or learn from an open source alternative. The older video editing tools we had do not have auto mask and blur features, so our learning curve was steep, yet we had YouTube and the experiences of others to rely on.

Our first five attempts went from bad to better, yet not good or good enough. So we are writing today to say, the last 24 hours have been interesting.

We tried Kdenlive first a few times, and switched to blender, and then after blender we switched back to Kdenlive. OB Studio does not have that feature though we wish it did, unless we could not find it quite yet.
