wind storms, power outages and backups

we just had our first clients hit with that power outage and wind storm yesterday.
the good part is that the outage only lasted 10 minutes, and out of 150 clients, only one got popped and that was on a surge protector. the power supply took the hit, and the data was safe and not recently backed up, but now it is backed up.
funny, how some people don't sleep overnight while their computer is down and they forgot to do their backups a few weeks ago. oh well, they will sleep better tonight now that their computer is backup, their desktop and documents are safely backed up, and they now know better than to just be lazy and it will never happen to them.
the shoe did drop and on them, and they got by unscathed in as much as only a power supply replacement and a few hours of being down.
do your backups. anything is better than nothing.
