so in all systems that we monitor, support and maintain, even design and develop, we have systems wrapped around systems that ensure consistent and up time and access.
so why and how do we do what we do?
let's just put it this way.
monitor things that have numbers, the important ones. put some on automatic and put some on manual.
audit things regularly, like daily, twice sometimes, and other things as you sense the need to take a peek and look; though you know all things should be running smooth.
can you put automated monitoring on everything? yep. at what cost? not much. should people who watch these things know how to adjust, alter and fix? yep!
