Box Enterprise , Search Box Drive CTLR+ALT+SHIFT+B

 

 This just came up for the folks trying to find docs on Box Drive based on a serial number.

I guess one using their keyboard on Windows can press Ctrl + Alt + Shift + B and type in what you are looking for on Box Cloud Drive and it will scan and find the file by contents and folder it is in.

some who were desperately trying to find something via Serial Number.  Made me dig in and ask Box Enterprise support for any solution and this is the best they came up with. 

You just can’t search in the top right corner of Windows Explorer like normal on the Box Drive and find what you want… yet..

The answer is not at this time – the box client and web box search are not in sync to include content. More testing is required.

Currently there is a difference in the way the two applications (Drive search vs Web App) search and I expect the file you are looking for will return in the web app. If it does this is something we are working with our engineers currently to have parity between the two search tools. Both searches will search the text inside the document as well as the document name, but search in Drive will return the first 50 results and the prioritization is the issue we are working on resolving. If you do not see a file in Drive search but you do in the web app search the issue is a result of bad prioritization.
