What will the legacy of Windows 7 be? Will it be like XP? Certainly not like Vista or Windows Me. What about Windows 95 and 98 SE (second edition), do you even remember Windows NT and 2000?
For me, Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0 workstation were probably one of the best experiences when it comes to system administration and operations. Windows 2000 Professional came along and did some pretty cool things too.
The server legacy of so many come to mind as well.
At present, Windows 10 Professional is my mainstay when I am not in Linux Mint for my main Linux distribution, or testing Peppermint for a client who has a vast array of requirements across the board.
Windows 7 will definitely go down in the history books. What will supplant it as a worth adversary? I have no clue.
In 10 more years, Windows 10 will be 15 years old and what will Microsoft be dishing out then?
Will we be having a version developed from Moon Base 1 Microsoft. What will Microsoft moon base address be? I have a feeling it will be fun no matter what.
Long live Windows 7...
