SQL programming 101 --- date/time formats and more...
so this is the craziest of all things... parsing date/time fixed formatted columns from static legacy applications that don't follow the rules of date/time formats.
i just had to do some quick programing to get the date formats of a static date/time legacy app to be understood by a new reporting engine.. yuck!! ... 1 hour later ... done!! no stored procedures....
just two real functions that come in handy: substring and convert....
