I am having a hard, tough and fun time always determining where will software application development be in the future, ongoing, at each year, decade and turn.
how will it be in 10, 20, 30, 40, 50 years?
local universities always try to say this is the best, or that is most used, and this is the worst or unused.
research, surveys and studies find that there is often deviation on what is predominant and needed versus what is fun and trivial. is that true?
one can just update the year in the links above and go back a few more years...
My thoughts???
I say, if you focus on the need of the people, the solution(s) presents itself.
can we throw away legacy platforms and just install new solutions; yes, if software, not really if hardware.
if hardware dies and there is not replacement, yep, plan your conversion of what is working and what is needed.
so, with that being said, what is the future of software programming and application development on any of the ISO TCP layers?
i would say... for the core rudimentary client desktop it would be SQL, Python, C#
for a different cloud majority it would be some version of all the technologies that are virtualized insulated encapsulated scripted packaged scalable not necessarily parallel yet json like flat column btrfs like file and data structures on steriods that can withstand kryptonite
more to come...
