The future of system engineering and development is the revitalization of the skunk works methodology of the cold war.
In operations, we need application engineers, and in product development we need outside verification, so why not continue to put our designers, developers out in the production environment in both military, space, and transportation agencies.
how many traffic engineers actually go out and actively monitor and collect data and accept feedback and say within days or hours make necessary traffic flow improvements? does it take them weeks, months, years before how many people die or get hurt before the solution providers and policy makers agree to take action.
