so Microsoft needed more space for office 95, so 1.44MB floppy was too many disks, so DMF (damn Microsoft format) came out. 1.8MB, cutting down the diskette set from 27 diskettes to 22 diskettes.. i believe...
Mike Sliger at Microsoft, and a few of us others in Microsoft Replication had to figure this out with the help of Trace Corporation (Dean Allara and Jim).
