Well, that was a fiasco waiting to happen.
1. Open the box and setup the TRENDnet 8-Port 10Gb switch
2. Open the box and install the two ASUS 10Gb NICs
3. Check connectivity and performance
Holy smokes. A complete fiasco. 4Mb/1Mb up and down at the go.
Using new CAT-6a shielded 25' and 50' cables.
What could go wrong? (Sienfeld like)

[RESOLVED]
Check your cabling type CAT-6A shield between the two performance systems via the TRENDnet un-managed switched and then CAT-5e to the Cisco managed switch. Crazy! So 10G between systems on CAT-6a, and then CAT-5e to the main network managed switch. Weird.
