I had the opportunity to work on 1 trillion rows and 32 columns wide in the past week. Ugh.
 
Well, long story short - if your normalization of the database and associated tables are good; it's fast.
 
Funny, the UNR interview I had a few years back talked to me about Snowflake designs; and I can truly reflect on the fact we don't live in a perfect academic world. Data is as data does.
 
My latest work on over 1 trillion rows across 32 columns was amazing; one database, 7 tables; Oddly, no one asked me the research laboratory configuration; servers, data stores, technical specs, and more.
