In the last two years, there has been a move from Windows 10 to 11 and the performance factoring has changed.

What one experiences at home is different than at work. Here are the reasons:

At home, the following occurs:
1. Regarding the operating system, your computer is receiving updates and performing its best based on your computer configuration
2. Regarding the hardware, as long as you have 16GB of RAM and 500GB NVMe or SSD drive, you are good.
3. Make sure your backups are working

At work, the following occurs:
1. Regarding the operating system is subject to change with notification and Windows 10 has an end of life coming soon. The Windows 11 operating system is needed if possible.
2. Regarding the hardware, one might be limited and this could pose problems with upgrading from Windows 10 to 11 and patching of the operating system.
3. As far as backups, there should be a corporate policy for backups and if one deviates from such, there might be an issue and its case by case.

What does one do in either case?
1. Remember to keep your data protected and backed up.
2. If you own the hardware, its up to you to upgrade now or later.
3. If you do not own the hardware, its up to your organization.

Performance Test is a great free tool to use to benchmark your system too! I have been using 10, and then retried 9.0, and recently licensed 11.0:
