If you manage servers like I do, when you go to investigate a possible disk thrashing situation, and you notice the Disk performance is missing from Task Manager performance tab. The resolution is easy. Even in a virtual machine like I have in this example on an AMD Ryzen 9 5950X 16-Core 32-Thread with 128GB DDR4 3000 RAM.
All you have to do is turn on the configuration to display it.
1. bring up a command prompt
2. type 'diskperf -Y'
3. close and re-open Task Manager | performance tab
You should see the disk performance is now displayed.
There is mention the write-cache enabled in the disk properties in hardware device manage is unchecked yet in many cases, a server has write-cache already enabled.
