This is an interesting puzzle to solve. How do you let a guest computer you are using to deliver a presentation to warn you when your time is up to end the presentation?

Why?

I was preparing for a presentation and it was limited to 15 minutes. This was a restriction which I appreciated yet how can I walk into an unknown situation and not have a helper with a count down timer, other than your cell phone with a count down timer alarm?

Ah ha! What if I told Windows to shutdown and restart a minute or two prior to the end of the presentation time limit. Interesting thought, huh?

Why again?

Windows has a built in count down timer on the shutdown command that one can leverage for various administrative reasons, yet this is a little weird.

Can I use it? Why not? My epiphany, again! So I tried it. It worked!

Therefore, after about 15 minutes of research and thinking, why not use the "shutdown" command and its optional parameters for time and message. Weird? Not really. It does not need administrative privileges and it is user level appropriate if on a Windows computer. Right?

So, without further ado, here is the command:

Windows Logo + R | type "shutdown /r /t {seconds} /c {your message}"

For me, 15 minutes is 15 * 60, minus the the alert warning of 1-2 minutes is this.

shutdown /r /t 840 /c "End of Presentation - Thank you - Wrap it Up Andy!"

note: remember, at the end of the presentation, one can abort the shutdown with the command

shutdown /a

this works! try and test it yourself.
Windows Logo + R and type |  shutdown /r /t 65 /c "End of Presentation - Thank you - Wrap it Up!"

to abort it...
Windows Logo + R and type |  shutdown /a

So, my take away is this. When I walk up to an unknown Windows laptop, insert thumb/jump drive, with a PPT file to present and I am given only so many minutes... I open up the PPT/PPTX and prepare to give the presentation, and then do the following | Windows Logo + R and type the appropriate memorized command such that anyone in the venue would be curious to know what it means and voila! maybe it works, or not. one can test it real quick if appropriate for a count of 65 seconds versus a larger value to the max minutes / seconds for the presentation. Try it for yourself and adjust appropriately.
