My easy way to Fix Error Code 0xc0000142 in Microsoft Office 2019 Pro Plus Retail

Well, this error happens about once per day lately since going to Windows 11 Pro, and though the solutions for Microsoft Office quick repair do work, why? What is going on here? So in the past, I would google for a solution and new solution, anything that might shed light on this and nada. Hmmm, I thought.

 

For me, wait a minute - everything is getting more picky with regards to permissions; I thought it might be a permissions issue, and voila - seems to be..

 

so I dropped to an administrative command prompt and cd c:\ and did a dir winword.exe /s  to find it if more than one, or just one and found it. (see my troubleshooting notes below).

 

 

go to "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Office\root\Office16" directory, and find one of the Office 2019 executable programs, like Excel.exe or Winword.exe and Right Click and Run as Administrator and the application opens, and then from there on, the problem goes away, at least for a day.
