I had the chance to clean up a network wiring closet today and it was, shall I say, cluttered. I liked correcting the colors to make things easier to identify and then matching all the lengths and colors for the routers and switches. The main servers shall we say, were improved as we fixed all the wiring to ensure proper access and ease of diagnosis and troubleshooting.

After thought and note: when you move network closets, make sure the temperatures are acceptable. I noticed the last closet was larger and had better air flow and the mobo and cpu and case temps were nominal. The new wiring closet is smaller with less air flow, so I had to sample and test the temperatures inside the chassis, cpu, gpu and motherboards and they were a little warmer yet still safe under load. Remember, electronics like it cold and heat adds to degradation.
