When you are still supporting legacy applications and tools - and Visual Studio Community 2019 freaks out after the update/upgrade to 2022, the removal and clean-up wipes out your Visual Studio 6.0 installation as well; therefore, the re-installation of both takes a little getting used to --

When the Community edition is re-installed, and one still has to use admin mode to get it to bypass the log created error, and then you have to re-install the 6.0 studio and the vb6sp6 in admin mode, you have to find a solution to the stuck updating your system issue ---

Yep, this works. - the solution ...  the VB6SP6 won't install as well if the instructions below are not followed.

"This is a quirk in the installer. During this step the installer runs a deep scan of all your directories to find any existing copies that may be on your drive. You'll have to be patient and wait for this step to complete.

As for Windows 10 support, make sure to select custom setup and skip the data access components, specifically the ADO and RDS feature, as leaving it enabled will lead to Setup getting stuck at the end and failing to complete."
