I have about 20 old quad core recycled machines that I keep around for my clients who have older applications on XP or Windows 7, and those quad core 4x4 machines are fine. Just drop in an SSD and keep the ram about 4GB DDR3 1066/1300 and all is good. no fuss. no muss.
