Backups and more explained

In the last 48 hours, backups have been important to help my clients.
Now we have an immediate urgency for Windows System restore points being turned off.
Wait? What! The system restore points are being turned off by Microsoft, AGAIN!
So, we have issues with that, yet then again - why do I worry? not for me, yet my clients who don't have backups, like I do ad infinitum.
