the year was 1991, June 3rd -- graduated college June 1st from Oregon Tech, moved June 2nd... 72 hours later, Day 1 at Microsoft. It was an amazing day.
going back 6 months, Microsoft recruiters came to Oregon Tech, interviewed 21 of us, slimmed that down to 7 of us, and I was #1 pick. 30 days later an offer letter to start for $24k per year. I had a graphics company in Silicon Valley interested in me, or Microsoft. I chose the latter.
Married 2 weeks later, and then back to Microsoft for what would be an amazing journey. It was not perfect but well worth the journey.
