Ordering end of year parts and managing expenses

Its end of year and you have to decide if you need parts for repair on 2021 books or 2022 books.
Its not inventory, its repair parts that are or are not available. Order the parts high and sell at cost, or wait and hope January parts orders are lower since end of year 2021 failed to sell through, and now sales are available.
I did this is 2019 through 2020 and got some great deals. Now 2020 through 2021, I would hope the same.
