The global communication system is great yet use it wisely and
productively.
The time has come for us, as a civilization to understand, maximum absorption aka information overload has been achieved. It only took since the year 1993 til now 2021 for this to be.
For me, I feel it now, and I felt it coming some 7-8 years ago, and now it is most evident.
What can one do? Well, PTSD is for soldiers and the like.
For me, this IOSD. Information Overload Syndrome Distress.
Over better yet IODS. Information Overload Distress Syndrome.
One must unplug and go back outside like your Mother or Father told you. Stop watching TV and get outside. Go play in the streets, go do anything else yet stop watching tv all day, and stop listening to the radio all day. do something productive.
Ha! If my parents only knew. They were right. That is why when stress occurs, I go outside and work in my yard and work on my garden, and work in my garage. Of all things, not tv, not radio, not internet, not netflix, not instagram, not twitch, not twitter. (doh. I forgot facebook and that is a great thing). nada. nothing. nada. nope. stop. now. before its too late.
Ha! I spent an hour yesterday outside playing with grand kids and enjoying a BBQ of sorts, and still, one hour is not enough. Its a start. If you have family, start by taking them outside on a day trip, a picnic, to a park, to a view, to the river, anywhere; away from technology.
Technology made me money, yet being a farm boy gave me discipline and wisdom, common sense and skills. Remember your roots. Wherever you end up, remember your roots.
