Java versus other languages

so i am figuring out this chess game and programming some of the advance features, and C# is okay to use, but should I just switch to Java instead so I can get it ported and portable to a mobile phone like Android and iOS?
hmmm.. interesting questions.. i'll probably just rewrite the main functionality in Java as quickly as possible and in the process get some of the client-server integration setup in some standard APIs.
when do I have time to work on my Linux projects? my oh my...
