Fiber and the return to Internet2

In the past 3 years, the fiber connects across the globe are coming to a head considering all the conspiracy, espionage, etc. Our governments fail to do anything on the surface other than talk, and ransomware is prevalent, and of course, most folks don't see the log files of attacks, 30 hits per second per IP address across the entire Internet span and space.

 

oh well. just keep deflector shields to maximum and block by country at best if you can...

 

The Internet2 was a big thing 20 years ago, and we have it in a way, and more...I won't go into details yet the FCC and others should revisit and audit the plan and progress.

 

Nostalgic, I remember the Williams Fiber deal across the US and three buried cables, 2 for private, 1 for government, orange blue black (can't remember the color coding, but I remember see the 3 conduits along the freeway across thousands of miles for a year; GE Corning agreed to help - 33,000 miles of fiber along the right of ways of the freeways and railways near the MCI buried circuits and more... the buried sea cables are more interesting, and the starlink LEO internet is even more interesting -- will they be like SkyLab and come down in 30-40 years.
