In the past year, I have seen a spike in slow computers getting a nice refresh with SSD replacements of HDD platter drives, plus the bump from 4GB to 8GB of DDR3 or DDR4 RAM. For the most part, its pretty easy and not too time consuming. Just identify old drive, 1TB or so, and clone to a smaller SSD drive like 500GB or 250GB which is most cost and size efficient for the user and usage type.
Remember, spent $100-$150 to extend the life of a computer by 2-3 years is cheaper than a new computer for most people...
