New computer builds still pondering graphic cards selection and choices

I am speccing out new computer builds and the CPU, GPU are up for grabs again. The RAM, SSD and MOBO are easily figured out, and the PSU is easy too. Cases are easy too.
It really comes down to the stall in GPU pricing lowering some more, and the CPU release cycle of new socket types in both the Intel and Ryzen platforms. I still prefer 8 core or higher CPU choices.
