Well, well, well. Its been a long time since I had a temporary profile created on my computer. Maybe 7 years.
Well, anyhow, it happened this morning on an Acer E1-250 running Windows 10 (yes yes, a shitty Acer AIO yet it works and just a tool pc on the side running jobs that need to be done, and scheduled daily for reboot since resources are a challenge with windows 10, yet a daily reboot seems to fix all things).
Oh, the OS in question - It was Microsoft Windows [Version 10.0.19041.1052].
The solution, reboot a few times and see if it fixes itself. Nope!!! Nope!!! Nope!!!
The IT solution, go into windows registry (regedit), under HKLM, Software | Microsoft | Windows NT | ProfileList and rename/shell swap the 1001 or 1002 with the .bak that is the correct one.
Reboot. That worked. cmd prompt | cd \users\ and then rd TEMP and look at the system properties User Profiles and it was not there, yet it left around the TEMP dir in the \users dir.
note: i could do a video or link to someone who did yet then again, once you learn this, you never forget it.
Microsoft should have some AI that senses this and fixes it on its own
more to come...
