This morning and for the past 20 years, I have wondered what drives the cost of things upwards?
Forty years, the cost for a gallon of milk, loaf of bread, a dozen, eggs, gallon of gas was X.
How did we get to X.

Fast forward 50 years, and now the same things cost Y.
The delta between X and Y is caused by what? Are we headed towards infinity?
Why can't we turn that pattern and direction towards 0.
Even for just a few categories; food, water, shelter. Again, Maslow at work.
If we could find the drivers for those categories, besides "just because" then we could start the turn. Economics, supply and demand are not good enough explanations yet we have relied on that since the dawn of barter, trade, cost of doing business....
I first thought just snapping ones fingers might do it, find a spending and cost model that would drive those to 0 forever, then we would have some sort of beginning of a utopia.
Let's find a way...
more to come.
