AWS EC2 versus AZURE D2_v3 - Cloudyn billing

August 21, 2018

Have you heard of Cloudyn? Microsoft's new billing portal for Azure.

Well, Microsoft purchased the Israel based company last year for a reportedly 50-80mil US and for some reason, it's looking to gather and combine your AWS and AZURE data.

At Mountain Computers, we have been testing for 6 months our innovation, tools and cloud tools on Amazon EC2 and Microsoft Azure to see who best fits our needs.

Bad idea? Probably. This falls in line with WIX and ZOHO. If anyone cannot see the pattern, I can.

That will cause some open source folks on the AWS world to pull back a bit on Microsoft, again. Microsoft helped Apple with $250mil back in the day, and are probably regretting it, but then again, that was to hedge off any anti-competition lawsuits from the FTC, and then again, Microsoft succumbed to open source with Port 25 initiative a while back.

Alas, Satya Narayana Nadella the current CEO of Microsoft, and 20 year veteran there.. has some interesting things that need to be done. Right now, his company morale sucks and he is trying to re-invent and refresh the company.  the latest article " Microsoft's CEO on helping a faded legend find a 'sense of purpose' "

I tweeted to him to bring back 1991-1995 company party/event methods. We'll see how that tweet goes..

more to come..
