It just came to my desk the Green Software Foundation, list of board members, and I find it quietly amazing list.

moral of the story when it comes to great endeavors: what I have always suggested: put your self out there and make a stand with competence and respect, still remaining humble, yet if you know what you are talking about, don't be afraid of the big person in the room and speak up because they put their pants on just like you and each of us have a story and a greatness in the past, present and future. What is essential is invisible to the eyes.

This is my suggestion and plan as a future board member c/o the Go Green PC Tune-Up™ solution for the last 30 years, --- the first year is this and the irony;

#1 - state the obvious
#2 - fix the obvious
#3 - report that we fixed the obvious

What is the #obvious?

#1 - save power
#2 - optimize activities
#3 - wax on, wax off aka turn on what you need, turn off when you don't need it

my translation of the above into the six items (2x3) @home, @work @ontheroad, @inthecloud, @inthedatacenter @inthevirtualdesktop - we need to do the following:

#1 optimize the interface - duh
#2 optimize the steps to spin up a solution** - duh
#3 optimize power - duh

** (define, create, secure, configure, launch, manage, replicate, reconfigure & redeploy, rollback, power optimize, virtualization enhance, archive, backup, restore, transfer, power down) a solution

For example, how do you start something, save it repeatedly and then not worry?

For me, the keystroke of CTRL+S is built in, yet for 80% of the world, still, don't know it. Why? Why does 80% of the world or more do not know CTRL+S? in the background, iterations of your file are backed up to where you can rollback if necessary.

Regardless, we are talking about green software development and I can tell you stories and more, see REF2 link below.
