Blogging platform revision - 2 hours of value

So, yesterday, which is still technically today in a way, I decided to revise my blogging platform from the tablet (table) view format to a list format, more like newsgroups back in the day, without the nested comments and posts.
What did I learn?
1. parameterized filters is a good idea. don't let sql injection come in.
2. clean it up, tighten it up and review the colors, header, footer, readability, and page speed
3. focus on new search engine methods for indexing your site, links, pages, etc
