Linux auto clean up works just be careful to backup first

For those running Linux on various platforms of hardware, and even virtualization like in Virtual Box or the cloud, make sure before you do your auto cleanup of kernels and more, that your backups are in place and verified.
Occasionally you will run into a reboot failure and have to revert to a grub2 adjustment making emergency repair procedure which is fine. Just be prepared. If you are not able to repair your grub2, your backup of data, software and programs will come into play quickly.
