Finally, TLS 1.0 and 1.1 are headed towards end of life. Since 1999, TLS 1.0 was known to have security problems yet the world let it be.
Now with COVID-19, Skype, Teams and other video and audio conference software has to be wary of the disruption of turning off those technologies and protocols in favor of privacy and security.
TLS 1.2 was pushed out by banks over the last 3-5 years very hard. PCI DSS compliance was like, hell no, TLS 1.0 and 1.1 will not be allowed and you must be not be on SHA1 nor TLS 1.0/1.1 - so we, the royal we in the finance and technology development and support and integration world complied. Otherwise, electronic payment processing across public Internet networks would not be allowed.
So, here we are in 2021, finally once and for all killing the long overdue unsecure TLS 1.0/1.1
oh but wait, yet, Microsoft wants to delay again and again, so thank you Microsoft for letting your customers and client remain exposed; not. ;-) its okay. Its not that you have not been hacked yet, you just don't know it yet.
