Several big organizations are planning on restructuring this week and into January. These are part of 2020 write downs as well as restructuring staff in various key positions in both senior staff, management and leadership.
Why the wait until now? Two things, this covid thing and the industry and market shakiness and mix.
For some markets, up 30-40% and others only up 3-5%. While there is major growth in some areas that does not equate to major profit. Margins are margins for some companies. Major growth strains infrastructure and staff while not giving more margin, yet 3% of 1 million versus 3% of 10 million does challenge the infrastructure to support it without increasing those needed resources. That is where the healthcare industry is at and while technology is significantly catching up, it usually does not keep ahead of the need curve.
Organizations are re-opening closed positions, and key personnel are moving and relocating because they held out this long to the end of the year, and need to liquidate their current location and assets and move on. They have waited long enough. Plus, some new hires did not work out as planned and so re-openings are starting to churn and we see a lot of gyration and churn, especially in technology.
