About 6 months ago, I ran into this error when installing Libre Office 6.0. Of course I found the solution after a few minutes to trial and error, yet I forgot to post and mention the workaround.

 

Well, the moral of the story is that if you download Libre Office 6.0 MSI installer, and go to install it, it stops.

 

hmmmm.. there are two workarounds..

 

1st) the workaround is to start a CMD prompt with Administrative Privileges, and then run the MSI installer. You might have to change directory to the download location %userprofile% Downloads, Just type the LibreOffice MSI installer from the command prompt and voila, it installs without interruption.

 

Ironically, if you try to run the Libre Office MSI as Administrator, you can't for some reason.

 

2nd) change the permissions on the windows system temp directory to Everyone with Full permissions. I don't necessarily like this one, but if you have older applications, this modification will allow nearly all your legacy applications to install and perform normally! Go figure Microsoft.
