Office 365 for the Apple Mac - downloading and installing tips

If you have a Apple Mac laptop or mini or desktop, you can use your Microsoft Office 365 subscription for PCs on a Mac. It works. Just check your subscription status of how many licenses you have, normally 5 license via your SSO (single sign on) Microsoft live portal.
The backdoor way to get to your subscription download and status is to go to:
1. sign in
2. click on Manage your account
3. go to subscriptions, downloads and installation
4. Download the Mac installer, run it, go through the wizard next steps, and voila. You are done and have Office 365 on your mac.
