For those in the know, remember, almost every feature, enhancement and functionality in the versions of Adobe Acrobat Standard and Pro today DC, 2020, 2017, 2019, Standard and Pro, exist in the previous versions like version 7.0, and especially 9.0 and mostly since XI (11.0).
What is new? For 80% of the users that are not in a workflow situation and integration situation with other Cloud Services, the standalone versions are fine, and the one time pay is even better. Remember to ROI your purchase versus a subscription.
I for one support and train on Adobe Acrobat since version 1.0 and heavily since version 7.0 and 9.0, and now XI (11.0); it works. You just have to enable the Advanced Tools menus and look for the features which DC and the newer versions called enhancements.
It's all marketing to make you want more and more, when in fact, you just use the basic features, read, generate or create, send, sort pages, insert or delete pages, edit content, form editor, calculations, highlighter, sticky notes, colored text boxes, etc.
The generated PDF format language typically is 6.0 compatible, so remember, when you have 2020, the content is 6.0 compatible.
