It is not every day you get a kernel panic race stop error in Ubuntu, Peppermint OS 10 after a kernel update. Well the solution is easy.
1. reboot in SHIFT key to previous kernel recovery menu option.
2. in the recovery menu, select root and type sudo apt autoremove, and let the previous and other kernels and updates automatically get removed and rolled back.
3. Ctrl D to exit and resume boot.
note: this even works if you boot to an encrypted partition.
