Operational training and professional development

Operational teams need to remain constantly up to date on industry challenges. That requires a special type of leadership and team that knows there are several different styles of achieving this. Not everyone on the team needs professional development, yet the organization needs something in place to address any deficiences in staffing knowledge regarding operational readiness.
 
1. have a plan, a budgeted plan. it does not need to be applied to everyone, just available to everyone.
2. your leaders need it just as well as management and staff.
3. metrics must be used to determine success of a professional development plan and operational training outcomes; certifications, accreditation, project achieved because of solid knowledge of new technologies applied to existing operations.
