Did you know that COBOL programming is still alive and well? I did.

I started programming in COBOL in 1983, along with Fortran (77). That was way back in the day.

Today, we still have lots of business applications and code running on COBOL. Look at the federal and state governments, business and industry, transportation and logistics, and more.

What is the oldest programming language? Here is the short list:

1. Fortran, the oldest
2. LISP, next oldest
3. COBOL, a little newer
4. ALGOL,
5. Assembly
6. Pascal
7. and so on and so forth.
