Experienced Recommendation
Our best recommendation is to look for computer deals starting with Sony as best in quality but highest in price, Dell as excellent in quality, overall price and performance, and then it is a horse race between HP, Compaq, and Toshiba.
Last and by far least in our choices is Gateway or Emachines. They are inferior in quality, inferior in warranty and in support, but you can't beat those cheap prices.
Purchasing Best Practices
1. Search Dell Outlet center for Dell computers that are "returned new" and then add the 3 year warranty.
2. Locate local laptop computer deals from Best Buy (previously noted as to avoid CompUSA until they went out of business), and get the items with OEM warranty not the CompUSA or even Best Buy warranty.
3. Monitor and review NewEgg.com or Fries.com as the peripherial and component solution source with 3-5 day free shipping.
